The Wildberries founder said she doesn’t keep track of her place in the Forbes ranking. It is more important for her to look at the financial performance of the company itself, and she “did not notice” the loss of $1.5 billion in its financial situation in 2023.

Tatyana Bakalchuk spoke about her attitude towards the lists of the richest people compiled by various specialized companies. An interview with the founder of Wildberries was published on the Forbes YouTube channel.

When asked how he felt about losing $1.5 billion of his financial fortune in 2023 (including due to the loss from the Wildberries warehouse fire in Shushary), Bakalchuk replied that he had not realized it.

“I did not realize. […] For me it is more important to look at the financial performance of our company,” Bakalchuk said.

The Wildberries director also noted that she doesn’t keep track of her place in the ratings. In 2024, Forbes ranked Bakalchuk 22nd on the list of Russia’s richest people, down five spots from 2023.

“We started making money in fintech, there is little money there for now. […] This is important to me, but the fact that someone added a zero to me or took a zero from me is not,” Bakalchuk said.
