The company is so confident in its success that it spent the day at its headquarters in Redmond, Washington, showing off how the new Surface Laptop compares to the MacBook Air.

Microsoft also showed off NPU performance.
According to Procyon AI Computer Vision testing, the Snapdragon X Elite’s NPU was almost twice as fast as the M3 Neural Engine on AI acceleration tasks. The Surface Laptop received 1,745 points, while the MacBook Air received 889 points. Snapdragon X Elite has 45 TOPS of AI performance, which is significantly more than the M3’s 18 TOPS.
