Venture capital fund GEM Capital invested $5 million in three of its portfolio companies: Weappy, VEA Games and Game Garden. All of them are based in Cyprus. Game studios will use the money to develop their projects.

- Weappy appeared in 2015 in Minsk. He specializes in creating games for PC and consoles. The company will use the funds received to develop and publish the Hollywood Animal game on Steam.
- VEA Games was founded by Dmitry Smirnov in 2015. The studio is currently developing an unannounced console and PC platformer.
- Game Garden was launched in 2009 by Yuri Pomortsev. The company is preparing to launch the Florescencia project, a fusion game in a flower greenhouse.
GEM Capital is a leading venture capital investor in industrial, entertainment and gaming startups. It was founded by Anatoly Paliy in 2017. The fund’s portfolio includes more than 25 companies from Europe, the US and Israel, with GEM Capital now focusing on Cyprus-based startups.
