Dell introduced the Precision 7865 Tower, a workstation equipped with the latest generation AMD Threadripper processors. This product line is aimed at professional occupations that require a lot of computing power, such as engineers, architects and designers. The first systems are expected to come out in the summer, and by then the manufacturer will also announce suggested prices.
Given its intended use, Dell provides top-of-the-line features including up to 64 Zen 3 cores (59950WX), 1TB of error-corrected DDR4 memory, and 56TB of storage. In terms of graphics processing power, customers can choose between AMD Radeon Pro W6800 or Nvidia RTX A6000, among others. These components are housed in a completely redesigned enclosure that is 14% smaller than the Precision 7820 Tower and still provides adequate cooling. Thanks to several handles, the cabinet should also be portable when needed.
The new Precision also offers plenty of connectivity: On the front there are two USB type-a and two type-c connectors (one with Power Share), plus a headphone jack and a microSD card slot. The rear has three USB type-a and another three type-c ports, followed by two Ethernet ports (10 and 1 GbE) and an optional serial port. Dell also offers two optional PS/2 connectors.

Finally, the system should be easy to maintain or upgrade, with easy front and side access. Inside are several color-coded components that can be replaced without tools as the demand for computing power increases.
