The press service assured that as of today there is no reason to believe that personal data has been leaked.
“At the current stage of the internal investigation, in which experts from BI.ZONE, Jet Infosystems and other organizations participated, we can confirm that the technical failure was caused by external influence,” the service said.
They added that most customer services have already been restored to full operation.
Earlier on Tuesday, Kommersant wrote, citing sources, that some of the shippers’ data from April, indicating goods, shipping points and photographs of packages, had been leaked online. According to the interlocutor of the publication, several links to Google services were found on the Internet, in particular to Google Sheets, where data on April shipments is published.
In particular, invoice numbers, reasons for delay, department names and information on senders, both natural and legal persons, were provided.
The SDEK, for its part, called on market participants and the media to rely only on confirmed information and not to rely on unverified sources. According to the company, information about creating backups only once every six months is not true.
“A backup copy of data is made daily at SDEK,” the service underlines.
An extraordinary meeting of the company’s board of directors is scheduled for June 6. There it is planned to discuss mechanisms and approaches to organizing risk management.
On May 26, a large-scale disruption in the work of the SDEK began and lasted for several days. The delivery service was practically paralyzed. Subsequently, the company began to gradually restore the functionality of services, for example, the mobile application, which became fully functional on June 1.
