Comfort.
Tucking the claws under itself indicates some health problems in the cat. For example, its paw, other parts of its body or internal organs may be damaged. This can be indicated by the pet licking and meowing in a certain area from time to time.
Also in the “loaf” position it is convenient to observe what is happening around. Similarly, an animal may show that it is hurt or may instinctively lie to protect its most vulnerable part, its stomach.
