Humanoid robot XBot-L is the first to arrive on UK streets.
It was created by Robot Era, which is a subsidiary of Tsinghua University in Beijing.
The robot independently walked up steps, inclines and uneven surfaces. He also passed through dimly lit guard towers without any problems. Before entering the tower, XBot-L stopped to show off some tai chi moves.
According to Robot Age co-founder Yue Xi, wall walking is made possible by the company’s proprietary Perceptive RL algorithm, which helps the robot quickly recognize unfamiliar phenomena and make decisions.
This is just a demonstration of the technology for now, but it looks impressive. The era of robots will continue to refine the XBot-L. Perhaps we’ll see it in other places soon. [New Atlas]
