Researchers at Jilin University have developed micro- and centimeter-sized crystals that can be used as conductors for light signals. The uniqueness of the development lies in the fact that these crystals have the ability to bend, bend and change color under the influence of acid.

Scientists state that the crystals they obtained have not only flexibility but also the ability to “erase and rewrite” the emitted light. This makes them ideal candidates for the development of flexible optical regulators with a wide range of tunable output signals.

The combination of flexibility and color-changing ability opens up broad possibilities for using these crystals in the production of lightweight and wearable electronic devices. The study was published in the journal Wearable Electronics.
