In a recent study, researchers surveyed more than 5,000 women ages 18 and older in the United States in 2021. They were asked if they knew about the link between alcohol consumption and breast cancer. They were also asked about drinking habits, other health factors, and background facts.

Surprisingly, only one in four women knew that alcohol was a risk factor for breast cancer. At the same time, 35% did not think such a connection existed at all.

Nowadays, myths about the benefits of alcohol are also common. Some people don’t want to believe that drinking is harmful. As a result, many women do not know or are unsure what harm alcoholic beverages do to their health.
