As a result of the attack, an entire region could be left without communications.

The MTS operator reported the most powerful DDoS attack on its infrastructure over the past year. RIA Novosti writes about this.
The attack was carried out from 20 thousand devices in two hours. Its power was 207 gigabits per second, at peaks it reached several terabits. The attack was carried out from devices in several countries, including Türkiye, Ecuador and China.
The hackers who attacked the operator’s infrastructure aimed to disable the router, which, if the attack was successful, could deprive the entire region of communications.
Specialists at the Center for Management and Monitoring of Public Communications Networks repelled 512 DDos attacks in the first quarter of 2024, while throughout last year the number of attacks of this type was 185.
