Previously, you had to hold down the side button along with one of the volume buttons to turn off the device, which created confusion, especially for users accustomed to the Home button.
With the introduction of the new Control Center in iOS 18, Apple added a dedicated close button in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Now users can easily turn on the standard close slider by pressing this button. Control Center can still be accessed by swiping from the top-right corner of the screen.
This change addresses a long-standing issue that occurred after the launch of the iPhone X, where the Home button disappeared, making it difficult to turn off the device.
Now users will be able to turn off their devices without having to remember complex button combinations.
