TSMC maintained its leadership position with revenue of $18.85 billion, down 4.1% from the previous quarter. Strong demand for AI systems and the upcoming launch of Apple products are expected to drive growth for the company in the second quarter of 2024.

Samsung Foundry’s revenue fell 7.2% to $3.36 billion due to declines in smartphone sales and capacity utilization issues at advanced nodes. Meanwhile, SMIC rose to third place, with revenue up 4.3% quarter on quarter to $1.75 billion, driven by localized production and consumer electronics demand.
