The Ministry of Economic Development has developed a procedure for the disclosure of data from government agencies online; the document is published on the website publication.pravo.gov.ru. Companies will be able to access government information and use it to train artificial intelligence (AI) models.

The document establishes that a state or municipal agency can recognize information as publicly available at the request of individuals and legal entities and publish it in a special section of the agency’s website called “Open Data.”
Public advice will determine what data should be publicly available.
Open data refers to information about the work of government agencies and local governments, which is published on the Internet in the form of data sets.
The Ministry of Economic Development reported that various data, except personal data (PD), will be published in special sections. Companies will be able to use the information to train AI models. The data will be available free of charge, clarified the Vedomosti interlocutor.
