Infinix has already firmly established itself in the Russian market and continues to abuse more in our lives. It would seem that they only recently appeared in the Russian Federation, and by this time they had already released a large number of gadgets for gamers around the world.

So, the other day it became known that the Infinix GT 20 Pro began to be used as a smartphone in the PUBG MOBILE Super League tournament in the EMEA and CSA regions. Moreover, it was among the first to receive support for 120 FPS in a similar game.

But today we will not talk about him, but about another company that produces smartphones. It also claims to be a gaming device among inexpensive devices. Yes, and it has other advantages, which I will tell you about now.

Not without its downsides. No one here is going to “lick” the device, but on the contrary, we soberly evaluate the gadget for its capabilities. First things first.

There is a very rich set here

Infinix continues to delight users by creating the richest bundles for its devices.

Along with the smartphone in the box you will find:

– 100W supercharger
– power cable
– bumper pad for smartphone
– documentation
– protective glass (!)

The most remarkable thing here is in the last work. Then, as Chinese manufacturers usually (and not always) pack with film headphones, Infinix decided to go further and give customers high-quality glass. It easily sticks to the screen and does not affect color reproduction.

Everything is so easy on the outside that even I, with my untested “straight” hands, was able to stick it on without bubbles. Good quality is immediately visible.

Premium design included

I’ll be honest. This device doesn’t look durable. It looks more like an expensive smartphone for 100+ thousand rubles, and that’s great.

The back panel is made of eco-leather (only in green color) or glass, and a metal frame is located around it to increase the strength of the structure. Due to the textured glass in my version, the smartphone heats up differently, like a worn book cover. A slight aging effect is present and looks expensive.

It does not try to slip out of your hands, it is smooth and tactilely pleasant. At the same time, it is quite light for its dimensions: 164.28 x 74.5 x 8.09 mm, weight – 190 grams.

Everything about the buttons is standard. On the right is a smaller power button and volume rocker, on the left there is nothing. Above and gradually there are stereo speakers of good quality with Hi-Res certification and microphones, and also has an additional slot for a SIM card. The speakers produce surround sound and light bass, and generally sound normal.

In addition, there is a built-in IR port for controlling household appliances such as televisions. It’s a small thing, but nice.

Bright AMOLED display protected by durable glass

Very juicy screen

The Infinix NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G comes with a large and eye-catching 6.78-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2436 pixels) AMOLED display. It has curved edges, but personally I’m not a fan of the solutions because of the false promises. And they are here, yes. But their sensitivity can be turned off in the smartphone settings. But it’s nice to swipe from the edge of such a display.

The screen has 100% compliance with the DCI-P3 color palette, and also supports refresh rate 120 Hz. You can work in two modes: 60 and 120 Hz, or automatically adjust it yourself. Alas, you cannot switch to 90 Hz.

The glass screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5th generation, that is, it is difficult to break and scratch. The display itself occupies 93.6% of the front panel; a dot cutout is provided for the front camera for Android smartphones. By the way, there is a Dynamic Island from the iPhone, called Dynamic Port.

Above I talked about what was memorable here and about this fact. Its peak brightness reaches 1300 nits. That is, you will see everything even in the brightest sun. The PWM indicator is also high and amounts to 2160 Hz, so it will not irritate the eyes too much.

As for the fingerprint scanner, it is mounted under a printed display, ultrasonic. Done with lightning speed, no errors occur during scanning. However, nothing unusual, but I like the solution.

Inexpensive, but quite noticeable

The Infinix NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G is powered by a 6nm processor MediaTek Dimensity 7020 5G. This is a fairly powerful chip for mid-budget devices intended for gaming.

The device is equipped with 12 GB of RAM, expandable up to 24 GB. Another 12 GB comes from the built-in memory, the total amount of which reaches 256 GB. Type – UFS2.2, LPDDR LP4x.

And what can I tell you about performance? Did you find that gadget?

Here are the results of some tests I ran:

• PUBG Mobile: 60 fps at high bitrate.
• CoD Mobile: 60 fps at medium speed.
• Genshin Impact: 60 fps on medium-low settings.
• Honkai Star Rail: High transmission speed 30fps.
• Arena Breakout: stable 60 FPS on high performance.

And here are the results of benchmark tests:

• Geekbench: 909 single-core and 2240 multi-core.
• AnTuTu: 470,000 points

Top, cool, worth the money and completely aimed at mobile games. This is immediately visible. It runs on the XOS shell based on Android 14. Everything is fast, I didn’t notice any pull-ups or slowdowns, only after turning it on, but that’s normal.

Takes good photos for the price

This is the Active Halo indicator light.

Responsible for photographic capabilities 108-megapixel main module camera. It has optical stabilization OIS which ensures that the lens does not shake together with your hands and takes photos without any blurring.

wp-image-1261626wp-image-1261628wp-image-1261629wp-image-1261630wp-image-1261627

It is possible to shoot with a 3x zoom without loss of quality due to the 108 MP crop. Maximum video recording resolution on the main camera: 4K/30 FPS/1080p/60 FPS.

Night photos are expectedly not of the highest quality, but not bad for their price category. It won’t work without noise from time to time, unfortunately.

In addition to the main sensor, it also uses a 2 MP portrait module and a 2 MP macro camera. In general, purely auxiliary lenses take pictures normally.

And yes, the selfie camera shoots at 32 MP. It has a front-facing flash for low-light situations.

Charging like an iPhone, but even cooler

The company has already created a line of special accessories

The main reason for the Infinix NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G is its support for Universal Fast Charging 2.0 technology. It allows you to connect your smartphone to a 100 W PD 3.0 power supply, which replenishes energy incredibly quickly.

I’ll say this, in 10 minutes I was able to raise almost 60% from scratch. The smartphone is fully charged in about 35-40 minutes.

In addition, in Infinix smartphones, this line looked like an analogue of MagSafe from the iPhone. Called MagCharge. This is a wireless magnetic charging with support for 20 W, there is also a recessive one for 5 W. I checked, the iPhone was charging ok from the Infinix, even attached to it with magnetic rings.

A special proprietary Cheetah X1 chip allows you to control the charging speed of the device and select one of three modes: smart, fast and moderate heating mode.

There is also a bypass charging system. That is, you can power your smartphone from the cable without disconnecting from this battery. For what? Reducing body temperature by 2 degrees at normal power and by 7 at peak power. The gadget does not heat up at all!

Let’s take it, gentlemen.

Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G turned out to be different. He costs 31,990 rubles (now there is a discount, without it – 36,990 rubles) in Russia and fully justifies its price.

For gamers, this is a great semi-basic option if you don’t want to spend a lot of money on expensive devices. Everything works fine here, the gadget itself barely heats up. It lasts a couple of days, is completely calm, and still looks expensive. What else is needed for happiness?
