A Moscow court fined Russian Post 100 million rubles for violating an agreement with the Ministry of Digital Development on the repair of branches. This is 20 times more than all the fines of the Accounts Chamber for 2023, writes Kommersant.

The court found that Russian Post, which received 5 billion rubles from the state for the project in 2021, did not complete work on 279 branches on time.
Russian Post reported to the Ministry of Digital Development that it alone failed to repair two 1.1 thousand branches and paid a fine of 8.4 thousand rubles. But the auditors, after studying the certificates of acceptance of work, called the data “unreliable.” The court decision also points out other violations of the contract.
Representatives of the operator claim that the claims are a mere formality and that all branches resumed work on time after the repairs. The company plans to appeal the court’s decision, but lawyers believe the fine is unlikely to be reduced.
