Bugatti has unveiled its first hybrid hypercar, the Tourbillon.
An 8.3-liter naturally aspirated V16 engine producing 1,000 hp is installed at the rear. with 900 Nm of torque. It can spin up to 9000 rpm.
It works in tandem with electric motors: one is built into the robotic gearbox, the other two rotate on the front axle (one per wheel). In the description, they add 800 hp to the hypercar. Thus, the total power is 1800 hp.
The tourbillon accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2 seconds, to 200 km/h in 5 seconds, to 300 km/h in 10 seconds, and to 400 km/h in 25 seconds. The maximum speed is 445 km/h.
Bugatti claims the Tourbillon is lighter than the Chiron, despite the electric motor and 25 kWh battery. In the city it can only drive on electric power, but not for long, a maximum of 60 km.
Another feature of the Tourbillon was the fully mechanical instrument panel. It was designed and manufactured by Swiss watchmakers. The instrument panel is located on the steering wheel, but is fixed in one place. Only the steering wheel rotates.
The center console is made of a mixture of polished radiation and crystal. The company wanted to make the interior in such a way that almost all functions could be configured through a machine button.
Therefore, the tourbillon screen is not the central element. But he is. A small display slides out onto the dashboard and supports Apple CarPlay.
The Tourbillon will be sold in a limited edition of 250 cars. The starting price is €3.6 million or 342 million rubles.
The hypercar is currently at the testing stage. Its production will begin no earlier than 2026. Most likely, all 250 cars will be sold before deliveries begin. [Motor1]
