According to Tianfeng International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Qualcomm will be the sole processor supplier of the Galaxy S25 series, which is a sharp change from the previous Galaxy S24 model where Qualcomm supplied only 40% of the processors.

Kuo predicts that Qualcomm will benefit significantly from this agreement, especially considering that the price of the Snapdragon 8 Gen4 processor with proprietary Orion processor cores will increase by 25-30%.

It was initially assumed that the Samsung Exynos 2500 processor would reduce dependence on Qualcomm, as initial CPU and GPU test results outperformed even Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. However, Samsung’s 3nm process has encountered issues primarily related to low efficiency and increased power consumption, leading industry experts to state that its performance lags 10-20% behind TSMC’s 3nm process.
