Hackers connect to Discord channels through malicious links and download their applications to computers. From now on, emojis sent in dialogues serve as executable files.
For example, if a hacker sends a fox emoji, Disgomoji archives the profiles of all users who access the infected channel from the Firefox browser. If there is a “flash camera”, the virus takes a photo of the screen and sends the photo to the operator. And if a “thumbs down” appears in the dialogue, a hacker file is downloaded to the computer.
Such cyber attacks started in 2023. If discovered by experts, hackers immediately create a new Discord channel or reach others through phishing.
