The Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Main Radio Frequency Center” (GRFC), an agency under Roskomnadzor, notified telecom operators about the need to block calls from numbers not registered in the Anti-Fraud system. TeleStor General Director Nikita Kapitansky spoke about this.

According to Kapitansky, if the caller’s number is not registered in the Anti-Scam system, operators must disconnect the connection. Officially, operators have 120 days to comply with this requirement, but some have begun implementing the recommendations earlier, he noted.

Most mobile operators have already connected to the Antifraud system, but about half of the 2,000 operators have not. This mainly applies to small or departmental companies with a small number of subscribers and one PBX. Kapitansky expressed the opinion that it would be more reasonable to extend the deadlines rather than impose real restrictions on the business activities of such companies.

A representative of Roskomnadzor confirmed that methodological recommendations for telecom operators have been updated. According to him, these measures are necessary to protect subscribers from fraudsters who use fake numbers to make calls.
