Residents of Hungary experienced an unusual glitch with Apple Pay.
With their prescribed cards, it’s just so important money, they don’t make any purchases. The amounts are always different. One person had $1500 written down for 74 quick transactions.
Not everyone experienced the issue, but the outage affected many Apple Pay users. These are definitely not isolated cases.
All banks in the country are currently dealing with a large number of complaints from customers. OTP Bank said it is aware of the problem but is still investigating it to understand what caused it.
A statement on Raiffeisen Bank’s website said Apple was working on serious issues.
We wanted to inform our customers that due to technical issues with an external partner, some of our customers may have had their funds incorrectly entered in the Apple App Store with their debit cards. Our colleagues have contacted Apple and the issue is currently being resolved.

Some false links to iOS subscriptions that were previously disabled.
Some customers blocked their cards to prevent further debits.
Apple has not commented on the issue. It also appears that no one has yet returned the money to clients.
