With over 101 years of journalism and reporting under its belt, the classic and legendary Time magazine will now move into the age of artificial intelligence as it has just signed a partnership with OpenAISo ChatGPT and all its products have access to an extensive catalog and information.
“Throughout our 101-year history, TIME has embraced innovation to ensure that the delivery of our trustworthy journalism evolves with technology,” said TIME Chief Operating Officer Mark Howard. “This partnership with OpenAI advances our mission to expand access to trusted information worldwide as we continue to pursue innovative new ways to bring TIME journalism to audiences around the world.”
“We are partnering with TIME to make it easier for people to access news content using our artificial intelligence tools and support authoritative journalism by ensuring proper attribution to original sources,” said Brad Lightcap, Chief Operating Officer of OpenAI.
OpenAI will also have access to real-time content from timewith the apparent purpose of responding to user queries about breaking news. In return, OpenAI will link to time and there will be a link to the original material on the publication’s website.
Not all publishers are on board with OpenAI, however; on the contrary, The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, New York Daily News and others have sued the company and its partner Microsoft for copyright infringement, claiming that they trained AI chatbots to work on those posts without permission.
