The night before, June 27, a video circulated on social media showing Durov riding an escalator in one of Kazakhstan’s shopping malls.
Madiyev said that the Russian authorities had invited Durov to visit the republic. He also expressed hope that thanks to the businessman’s visit it would be possible to agree on some joint projects.
“God willing, we will implement some new joint projects,” the minister said, adding that Telegram is currently used by more than 10 million people.
According to Madiyev, the republic has made significant progress in the field of technological solutions and products that could be brought to new markets.
“We have something to show,” he said.
Earlier, Durov announced a big trip to Central Asian countries. The entrepreneur decided to explore life in this region and find out how people use the messenger he founded and what their digital needs are.
