The new equipment will use electric drives of switched reluctance motors, modern chargers with lithium-ion batteries and other components. The press service noted that this change will significantly increase the level of localization and ensure high efficiency of tractors and loaders.
The first Russian electric tractor “Silant” was developed by the company “Apriori Machine Solutions”, the prototype of which was presented in 2022. In 2024, the replacement of imported components with domestic components began, paving the way for mass production of electric tractors.
According to the press service, tests of new converters and electric drives were carried out in Kaluga, and the installation of equipment will be carried out at the Cheboksary Power Unit Plant.
