Within a few years, raw Earth remote sensing (ERS) data may become almost useless. Valery Zaichko from Roscosmos believes that you need to focus on data analysis to get the finished product. He argues that within three years, even ultra-high-resolution data will cost very little and the market will be flooded with services rather than raw data.

The main trend is to deliver a final product rather than snapshots. According to Zaichko, very few people are interested in photography itself anymore. Geoanalytical and geospatial data processing are much more important. It is precisely such analyzes that are important for users and customers, and Roscosmos adapts to these market changes.

In the future, images taken using special equipment could become valuable. Zaichko suggests that new types of data, such as infrared or ultraviolet, could become highly valuable, as is currently the case with radar data
