Sila, the unicorn startup with Russian roots, has raised $375 million in a Series G round. Its co-founders are Gleb Yushin and Evgeny Berdichevsky, the latter of whom was one of Tesla’s first engineers. The money will be used to complete the construction of a battery production plant in the US and scale up the new technology.

American startup Sila (formerly Sila Nanotechnologies) has raised $375 million in a Series G round of funding, TechCrunch writes.
Current investors in the company include Sutter Hill Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, Coatue and Perry Creek Capital.

Sila will use the funds raised to complete the construction of a battery production plant in Moses Lake, Washington state in the United States. Construction completion is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025. This plant will begin mass production of its Titan Silicon anode material.
The startup Sila is a “unicorn”, its valuation exceeds one billion dollars. The last round of financing in addition to the current one took place at the end of January 2021, then Sila received investments worth $590 million.
