After updating to iOS 18 Beta 2, iPhone users using compatible carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon now have access to RCS.

After enabling this setting, Google Messages users finally see message delivery and read confirmation marks, typing indicators work normally on both operating systems, and advanced file sharing is now possible.

But there are some notable inconsistencies, like the lack of end-to-end encryption (E2EE). Additionally, some settings, like the ability to limit messages to SMS/MMS only, are not available when sending messages from an iPhone.

These inconsistencies are expected to be fixed before the full launch of iOS 18 this fall.
