Priced at $700 on Kickstarter and retailing for $800, Envision binoculars connect to smartphones to retrieve GPS data and access Unistellar’s extensive online database.
Equipped with an IMU (gyro stabilizer) and on-lens microdisplay, Envision puts data directly into the binocular lens to identify mountains, trails, and constellations. The company’s servers hold an extensive database of more than 1,000 nebulas and more than 1 million landmarks. The data can be downloaded to a smartphone, allowing you to identify objects even offline.
Envision promises that it will go on sale in November.
