Sber is conducting a full-fledged process with foreign banks to launch payments via QR codes. This was reported by Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank Kirill Tsarev.
We are already working hard with foreign banks and financial partners from other countries to launch such a service so that tourists can pay for purchases. Russia is still too complicated to try to buy something abroad – such a solution should help them.
Kirill Tsarev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank
Tsarev did not say with which countries military operations are being conducted.
In 2023, Sber will launch QR code payments in Turkish stores, cafes and restaurants. More than 30 points in total.
It works as follows: the client indicates their desire to pay using the Metropol Card system, scans the QR code from the Sber partner’s website and pays the bill via SberPay. [Известия]
