DigiTimes reports that the iPhone 16 Pro will feature an updated telephoto camera from the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which will give the device 5x optical zoom.

It is supplied by Taiwanese lens manufacturers Largan Precision and Genius Electronic Optical (GSEO), who are currently ramping up production of these modules for a new line of smartphones.

Largan Chairman Adam Lin recently said that the optical components sector is expected to see peak sales from September to November, which corresponds to the expected launch period of the iPhone 16 Pro.

GSEO, the publication notes, is a new supplier. It is currently successfully undergoing quality testing and will begin production in mid-July.
