The use of these materials can significantly improve the performance of Internet networks and other information transmission technologies.

Scientific research at Pskov State University focuses on the development of nanocomposites, including silver-opal and tin-opal. These materials have unique properties due to their porous structure with nano-sized cavities into which various substances can be embedded. Using this technology, scientists create metal nanoparticles that make materials multilayered and have various functional properties.

Research at Pskov State University has been ongoing for decades and has involved funding from the Russian Foundation for Fundamental Research (RFBR). Scientists have studied the properties of new materials and developed methods for their synthesis. One of the key participants in the project was Alexander Tsvetkov, associate researcher at the Department of Physics at Pskov State University.

These nanomaterials could find applications in various areas of optics, including the creation of camera filters and waveguides. The technique for producing opal-based materials makes it possible to fill their nanochannels with various substances, opening up new horizons for the development of high-tech systems and devices.
