Rospatent announced an increase in trademark registration fees by 10% to 15%

Earlier, RB.RU wrote about the increase in the trademark registration fee by 60-70%. It was reported that currently the fee for registering a trademark in an ICGS class is 21.7 thousand rubles, taking into account a 30% discount when submitting an application in electronic form (without a discount – 31 thousand rubles), and according to the new rules the tax will increase to 35 thousand rubles and the discount will be canceled.

The grace period for payment of fees will also be abolished. The penalty for late payment of fees will increase from 50% to 100%.

In its message, Rospatent believes that the increase in the trademark registration fee is due to the amount without a 30% discount, i.e. from 31 thousand rubles. According to the department’s calculations, the increase will be 13% – from 31 thousand rubles to 35 thousand rubles.

The cost of the patent fee for an invention will increase by 13% – from 24.7 thousand rubles to 28 thousand rubles; for a utility model – by 4% – from 14.4 thousand rubles to 15 thousand rubles; for an industrial design – by 10% – from 13.6 thousand rubles to 15 thousand rubles.

Changes to tariff regulations will come into effect seven days after the date of the first official publication of the regulation by the government.
