The new product will be used at night or during periods of high traffic intensity. To do this, the application will offer a short test. It will reveal the reaction speed, attention and willingness to drive the scooter carefully at the current moment.

If the user fails the test, the service will temporarily reduce the speed of his/her journey to 15 km/h. He/she can also refuse to take the test; in this case, the service will also limit the speed.

“With the help of the new product, Whoosh will technically support the safety of the upcoming trip: it will not allow sudden maneuvers or accelerations for users who are not currently prepared for it,” explained a company representative.

How the solution will work

Commenting on the launch of the new feature, Whoosh said the test will be offered to users planning a ride at night on certain streets or in places with a “high concentration of people” (the service does not reveal where exactly).

When starting a rental, the user will be presented with one of several test options. We are talking about tasks that will allow you to assess your directed attention skills: the Schulte test and the Stroop test.

There will be no more than a minute to complete the tasks: users will be asked to put numbers and letters in the correct order, determine the color of a word or find the name of a color. Then Whoosh will check the user’s reaction speed and concentration on what is happening.

The new product has gone live in cities where Whoosh is present in Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus.
