The Tagansky District Court of Moscow has fined Telegram 3 million rubles for refusing to remove information prohibited by law, according to the Telegram channel of the Moscow courts of general jurisdiction.

A Moscow court fined Telegram 3 million rubles for failing to remove calls for illegal actions
Telegram Messenger Inc. found guilty under Part 2 of Art. 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offences: failure by the owner of a website to remove information or an Internet page if the obligation to remove such information or an Internet page is provided for by Russian law.
The maximum fine provided for in this article is 4 million rubles.
Earlier, Roskomnadzor informed RB.RU that the Tagansky Court of Moscow registered two protocols against Telegram, drawn up by Roskomnadzor, for refusing to remove materials promoting terrorist ideas and justifying the activities of ISIS (an organization banned in the Russian Federation), as well as for failing to remove materials with calls for mass unrest and with unreliable and socially significant information, including about the SVO.
The consideration of the protocols was scheduled for July 8 and August 13.
In relation to Telegram, 21 administrative offence reports were drawn up in 2021, 2022 and 2023 for failure to remove unreliable socially significant information. The total amount of fines amounted to 69 million rubles, of which 49 million rubles were paid, Roskomnadzor added.
