This fall, Apple plans to update its original smartwatch lineup with larger screens and thinner devices. The new Series X models, codenamed N217 and N218, will have screens roughly as large as the Apple Watch Ultra.
In this case, the external device will not undergo significant changes. Series X and Ultra 3 will have new chips that could form the basis for future AI-powered improvements.
However, full integration of Apple Intelligence for smartwatches is not planned yet; these functions will appear first on iPhone, iPad and Mac, then on Vision Pro.
It is not yet known whether Apple will use the anniversary name for future models or delay it until 2025.
Considering that the Apple Watch was announced in 2014 but released in 2015, the company could either celebrate the anniversary this year or make it a bigger event next year.
