This system allows you to improve the visual quality of games while reducing the power consumption of your smartphone. ARM makes ASR available to developers under the MIT open license.
The new product uses temporal scaling similar to AMD FSR 2 to increase frame rates in games and improve graphics.
Unlike spatial zoom, temporal zoom uses multiple frames to create a sharper image.
The technology is especially useful for less powerful graphics devices that cannot provide smooth gameplay at high settings.
ARM tested ASR on a device with an Immortalis-G720 GPU and a 2800 x 1260 display. The results showed that ASR increased frame rates by 53% compared to rendering at native resolution.
