Situation.
You went on holiday with your children or just somewhere, stayed at a hotel. They go to bed much earlier than you. And you want to rest further. I wouldn’t want them to wake up and there’s no one around for a long time. And you never know what could happen in the room.
In general, you want to keep your finger on the pulse and relax like an adult in the evening. To do this, take a video nanny or video camera with you. All that remains is to connect to Wi-Fi on site. And here may be a problem.
Many hotels, especially larger ones, provide internet access via free wifi with pop up page. There you enter the room number and personal data, after which you get access to the Internet. Here’s what it looks like, example:

However video cameras, baby monitors and most other smart devices, such as Yandex Station speakers with Alice, this type of authorization is not Japanese and will not connect.
If connecting such devices to your system Modem Mode in your vacation country is not an option (for example, you went to Turkey, and the communication tariff is not unlimited), then I have a simple solution. For this you will need a smartphone with Android, iPhone is out of the question.
How to connect a smart camera or Yandex Station to a hotel’s Wi-Fi
We use the hotel’s Wi-Fi relay function via an Android smartphone. And then any gadgets will be able to connect to it, and through it to the Internet, without having to deal with authorization via a pop-up window and other complications.
1. We take a smartphone on the Android OS. Absolutely any smartphone released in the last 6 years will do.
2. On your Android smartphone, connect to the hotel’s Wi-Fi as usual.
3. Open the personal hotspot settings menu in Android. It is usually located at the top of the main Settings page of the smartphone: Connect and Share → Personal Hotspot.
As an example, we show how this is done on my Android smartphone. Most likely, in your case it is approximately the same. You definitely have the function, it’s just that the names of the items may be encrypted
4. Include the function in it Personal hotspot – in different shells it can be called differently, but usually like this.
Be sure to disable the setting here to automatically turn off the access point when there is no data transfer: Automatically turn off personal hotspot → off.
And also check that the item has been enabled in the Modem mode subsection: Bluetooth modem.
5. Turn on the hotspot itself on your Android smartphone: Personal Hotspot → on. Remember the name of the created Wi-Fi network and the password.
6. Now connect your smart device (camera, Yandex Station, and anything else) only to the created Wi-Fi network. Everything will go as usual, without pop-up windows.
That’s it. Don’t forget to charge your Android smartphone and leave it in your room next to the smart devices you use.
The method has been tested. This is how I connected the video camera and watch my son in the room while he sleeps – and my wife and I are relaxing in the meantime. I wish the same for everyone in the summer.
