According to the World Bank, Russia ranked seventh among the ten countries with a trade surplus at the end of 2023. In first place is China.

RIA Novosti has reviewed World Bank data. Leading Chinese economy ended the fiscal year with a surplus of $594 billion. Russia’s trade surplus is $121 billion.
Following China and before Russia are Germany, Ireland, Singapore, Switzerland and Saudi Arabia. Completing the top ten, after the Russian Federation, are the Netherlands, Australia and Brazil.
In total, 43 countries ended last year with a trade surplus (their total volume was 2.5 trillion dollars), and 72 countries ended the year with a trade surplus (it went into negative territory at 2.3 trillion dollars). The United States was the country that lost the most ($1.1 trillion).
