Details on the value of the LG-Athom deal have not yet been released, but experts estimate it to be worth $61 million. The connectivity options available to the brand have now expanded. The platform, which runs on webOS, is essentially limited to LG products, but now the ThinQ ecosystem will definitely be expanded. gizmochina.com writes about this.

Homey platform integration allows you to add third-party devices. Homey is an open ecosystem, unlike ThinQ, with multiple connectivity options including Bluetooth, WiFi, ZigBee, Z-Wave, and infrared. Homey Pro will be able to connect to Matter and Thread, and the number of connected devices can be 50,000 at a time.

Experts suggest that LG’s acquisition of Athom will accelerate the natural development of the smart home system. The company also acquired Alphonso some time ago and the brand is likely to continue making other strategic acquisitions as it continues to strengthen its presence in the ecosystem.
