The app now allows users to opt for keys stored on devices alongside physical tokens to enhance account security. Introduced in 2017, the APP requires the strongest form of MFA, which uses cryptographic keys to prevent phishing and unauthorized access attempts.
The update responds to user feedback by making the program available to those who are unable to purchase physical keys due to cost or availability restrictions. Under the new policy, users are still required to sign up with two keys (either two passkeys or a combination of a passkey and a physical token).
This approach allows you to maintain strong security measures while expanding accessibility.
