This is due to the transition to a new version of the CryEngine engine. The new requirements will come into effect on August 15th.
The updated version of the game will require a PC with an Intel Core i7-7700 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a GTX 1650 SUPER or RX 5500 XT graphics card.
The developers haven’t yet specified how much space the game will take up in the new engine, but the size is expected to increase.
Up until this point, Hunt: Showdown had fairly modest requirements: Intel Core i5-4590 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 and a GTX 660 Ti or R7 370 graphics card. The game takes up 20GB of storage.
There’s also some important news regarding the console versions: Hunt: Showdown will stop working on PS4 and Xbox One starting August 15.
This move comes as new technical advancements require more powerful hardware than older consoles can provide.
