Remote desktop developer AnyDesk reported server hacking

The company’s specialists learned of the cyberattack after detecting signs of an incident on production servers. A security audit revealed that the systems were compromised. AnyDesk revoked all security certificates associated with the stolen data and also restored all systems.

The company said in a statement that the attackers were unable to steal authentication tokens, but decided to play it safe and reset all passwords on its platform, and offered users to change them.

AnyDesk assured that its users were not at risk, but recommended updating their application versions with a new code signing certificate.

The AnyDesk app is used by more than 170 thousand customers worldwide, including NVIDIA, Samsung and Siemens.
