Darkstore at Home, a network of express warehouses for online retailers with the ability to deliver orders to the final consumer, has closed the second round of investments worth 50 million rubles, Renata George, managing partner of iZBA VC, told RB.RU.

The company received funding in two tranches. The first was attended by the venture fund 2FISH Capitals (Astera holding) and a group of private investors: together they invested 34 million rubles. The second was attended by the Malina VC fund (10 million rubles) and a syndicate of private investors (6 million rubles) for a total amount of 16 million rubles.

The syndicate of the round was iZBA VC team. According to the results of two rounds, the company’s valuation exceeded 190 million rubles.

The company will use the funds raised during the second round to develop partnership projects with marketplaces, expand offline warehouse infrastructure and online services for customer-sellers.

By the end of 2024, the company will start operating as an infrastructure for other e-commerce market representatives. Logistics operators will be able to place their customers in Darkstore warehouses at home with storage, assembly and delivery services within an hour without the need to build their own distributed network of express warehouses.

Commenting on the interest in the company, MalinaVC Managing Partner Anton Pronin noted that Darkstore at Home “has found a unique business model that can demonstrate sustainable growth and provide a high return on investment.” According to him, since the pandemic, there has been a steady growth of the e-commerce market; at the same time, infrastructure services for all market participants are growing.

The company was founded in 2021 by Kirill Chekanov and Grigory Tareev. According to the Kontur.Focus system, the company’s revenue at the end of 2023 increased 110 times compared to 2022: from 76 thousand rubles to 8.4 million rubles. Net losses in 2023 amounted to 11.8 million rubles, versus 5.1 million in 2022.
  • The company attracted its first investments in the amount of 9 million rubles in August 2022 from a group of private investors and the Samolet Group of Companies. In October 2023, Darkstore at Home raised 34 million rubles from the venture capital company 2FISH Capitals and a group of private investors iZBA VC. The project budget exceeded 160 million rubles.
  • The main owners of Darkstore at Home are Kirill Chekanov and Grigory Tareev: each owns 29.2% of the company. Another 10.4% is owned by 2FISH Capitals, 5.3% by Malina VC, 2.4% by Igor Shiyanov, 2.3% by Vladimir Urbansky, 2.3% by Alexey Dmitriev, 2.1% by Samolet Plus LLC “, 1.9% – Rodion Brekhach, 1.8% – Sergey Shershen, 1.2% each – Rustem Ravilov, Alexey Chepkasov, Ekaterina Chepkasova, 1.1% – Timur Myaldzin, 0.9% – Konstantin Tyutyunov, 0.6% each – Izba Academy Dark LLC, Vladimir Dorokhov, Alena Kushnirenko, Roman Latkin, Victoria Panteleeva-Borovskaya, Mikhail Sidoreyko, Artem Utenov and Sergey Khaidapov, 0.5% – Renata George.
