Russian startup Smile AI, which uses neural networks to analyse the state of teeth and gums, has raised 10 million rubles in its initial stage. The funding was provided by the Korolev University Foundation, under the guidance of the Voskhod venture fund and a business angel, the press service of RB.RU reported.

“Smile AI” is a telemedicine application for remote primary diagnosis of teeth and gum health. The user takes photographs of the oral cavity and then the neural network analyzes the resulting images and makes recommendations based on the identified problem.
As the press service clarified, Voskhod provided funds within the framework of a joint project with the Ministry of Education and Science to finance university equipment. The founder of Smile AI is Daniil Maklakov, a graduate of the Faculty of Biology of BelSU.
Smile AI is the winner of the SberStudent accelerator for college students, graduate students and university employees.
The legal entity of the Smile AI project, LLC Smile AI, according to the Kontur.Focus system, was founded in August 2023 in the Belgorod region. As of May 2024, 83.6% of the company is owned by Daniil Maklakov, 10.03% by Andrey Perevoshchikov, and 6.37% by Vladimir Khudoley. The net loss at the end of last year amounted to 58 thousand rubles.
