The Financial Times’ sources are not sure whether the deal will go through. Bloomberg’s interlocutors estimate the purchase value at around 4.5 billion euros (about 5 billion dollars).

EssilorLuxottica is a French company, the largest manufacturer of eyewear in the world. It owns more than 150 brands, including Ray-Ban, Oakley and Essilor.

The companies have been collaborating for several years: in 2021, Meta* and Ray-Ban launched their first smart glasses and updated them in 2023. With their help, you can take photos, record videos and share content, as well as post photos to Stories.
