CoSAI aims to address the “fragmented AI security landscape” by sharing methodologies, frameworks, and open source tools to ensure AI systems are secure “by design.”

IBM, PayPal, Cisco, and Anthropic have joined CoSAI. The coalition will operate under the auspices of OASIS, a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing open standards.

CoSAI will focus on three main goals: establishing best practices for AI security, solving specific AI problems, and securing AI applications.

A Google spokesperson emphasized the “double-edged” nature of AI, noting its potential for both defensive and offensive uses.
