One of the participants in the beating of the former director of the World Class gym chain arrested

“The accused was detained in accordance with Article 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation. Measures are being taken to search for the other participants in the incident,” the Interior Ministry said on its website.

The businessman’s conflict with his attackers took place near a gas station in the village of Lytkino. As the victim himself reported, he took too long to prepare his “dish” (presumably shawarma) and after he expressed his dissatisfaction, the cafe employees behaved aggressively and invited him to “come out and talk.”

The victim claims that the gas station employees (10 people in total) also came to the aid of the cafe employees. The businessman sought qualified medical help. He was diagnosed with a concussion and a broken rib.

“They also cut my lip and knocked out a tooth, I have numerous abrasions,” Babanov shared with MSK1.RU (“My teeth were broken. Look at my teeth. I had them done in Switzerland. I paid $65,000.” KP quotes the businessman’s video).

At the same time, the businessman’s lawyer Alexander Karabanov claims that during the confrontation the hooligans blackmailed Babanov and demanded to pay 1 million rubles for the fact that the director of the fitness network “interrupted” an unknown driver at the entrance to the gas station.

According to the lawyer, Babanov was the victim of a “new criminal scheme, which is being carried out at petrol stations” by “ethnic gangs”: an attempt to accuse him of inappropriate behaviour on the road, followed by extortion for moral damages. In this case, shawarma became a pretext, the lawyer believes.

Earlier, another former director of the World Class club network, Nikolai Pryanishnikov, announced a new position: from July 1, he became the head of the commercial direction of the developer of the domestic OM Astra Linux – Astra Group of Companies.
