According to the author of the project, Leonid Kochurov, the new technology uses spectral multiplexing of channels based on quadrature phase shift keying of signals. This will enable data transfer rates of up to 400 Gbps, which is made possible by new modulation formats using polarization keying and phase shift keying.
The developed method involves the use of lasers to synchronize the amplitude and phase modulation of signals, which allows suppressing amplitude changes and improving transmission quality. The use of semiconductor lasers with vertical resonators will increase energy efficiency and reduce costs, which will make the project in demand in the fields of information and telecommunications systems and radio electronics, the press service noted.
