Apple has cut iPhone prices in India after the country’s government cut import duties on smartphones from 20% to 15%.

Prices have dropped by 3-4% depending on the model. The iPhone 13, 14 and 15, which are manufactured in India, have become at least 300 rupees ($3.6) cheaper.

The iPhone SE has been slashed by Rs 2,300 ($27.50) and the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max by Rs 6,000 ($72). These models are imported to India by Apple from China.

This is the first time that Apple has reduced the price of its latest iPhones in India. The news is good, but the smartphones are still expensive in the country. For example, the base iPhone 15 Pro costs $1,550 in dollars, while in the US you can buy it for $999. [TechCrunch]
