The State Duma Committee of the Russian Federation has approved an amendment on the obligation of leading bloggers and content creators to report to Roskomnadzor, the head of the committee, Alexander Khinstein, told RIA Novosti.

The amendment concerns bloggers whose audience exceeds 10,000 people. They will be required to transfer data about themselves to Roskomnadzor, and in case of non-compliance with the law, their channels or pages on social networks will be blocked.

In July, debates began on regulating the work of bloggers. Initially, it was said that the law would affect authors of content with an audience of 1,000 people.
