Choosing a washing machine is not a difficult process, but there are a number of points that you should pay attention to. First, there are two types of washing machines: top-loading (semi-automatic) and front-loading (automatic). The first is cheaper, but at the same time less energy efficient, washes less well and has a limited load – less than 5 kg. The second is more expensive, but saves more electricity, performs a better wash and can handle a larger load of laundry. Therefore, it is advisable to buy exactly the “automatic” type models. But the question may arise before the consumer: how to choose a washing machine from a wide variety of equipment, and most importantly, what to look for before buying?

form factor

Not the best, but for someone there may be an important point to buy – this is the size. At this point, the user can choose a washer to suit her. There is no fundamental difference, whether it is a large or small machine. It all depends on the possibility of placing the equipment at home. If space allows, it is best to give preference to a full-size machine, 60X60 cm, the height is the same for all and is 85 cm.

By size, washing machines can be divided into: full-size, compact, narrow and ultra-narrow.

The maximum number of load things can vary from 3 to 12 kg. How much is needed is at the discretion of the buyer. For a large family, it is advisable to choose as many kg of cargo as possible. But, on average, 6-7 kg is enough, especially if washing is done regularly. At the same time, even compact or narrow machines can hold up to 8 kg of laundry.

As an average price category, you can choose LG F2V3GS6W at 8.5 kg or HAIER HW60-BP12929AS also at 6 kg. The first has a depth of 45 cm and is already quite compact. But the second machine can boast of its harmony, it has a depth of 37 cm, which can be attributed to a narrow-type model.

The same happens with the design, the consumer can choose the washing machine that he visually likes the most. But it is worth considering that the design also affects the price, and the more spectacular the machine looks, the more expensive it will cost.

washing quality

If the user has focused his attention on a washing machine that has a very attractive appearance, he should not rush his choice. First of all, this appliance must be used specifically for washing clothes. But there are a huge number of automatic machines on the market, from the cheapest to the most expensive. And the buyer may wonder if there is a difference in the quality of the wash? When viewed from a programming point of view, expensive models have more different functions that can clean things better than a cheap model.

However, it is not. There are 4 basic washing programs that are present in all washing machines: wash for cotton, delicate, by hand and quick wash. You can also set the temperature and the number of revolutions to rotate at your discretion. These are standard features that the consumer will use all the time and they are no different. Everything else is a marketing strategy, the goal of which is to sell your product, presenting it as the best on the market.

There are also two types of control: mechanical and electronic. In the first, having selected a washing program, you must manually set the spin speed, temperature, etc. The second option does everything automatically. Mechanical control is less common. Therefore, when choosing, only one question can arise, to take a machine with a touch panel or with an ordinary small display that shows the type of washing and time. Strictly speaking, overpaying for the sensor doesn’t make sense.

Conclusion: The quality of washing in all machines, whether expensive or cheap, is the same.

technical part

The first thing you need to pay attention to is the drum tank. It is made of plastic and most tanks are not collapsible. From a technical point of view, this solution creates a problem. If the drum bearing is worn, then in order to replace it, you will have to cut the drum, which of course is not provided by the manufacturer. To solve the problem, it is necessary to completely change the assembly, which is quite expensive. As for the bearings themselves, it is advisable to choose a machine that has a larger bearing. It is much more reliable and will last longer. To avoid going wrong with the size, choose a full-size machine or one with the highest spin speed.

Each machine has a class that determines the number of revolutions during spinning.

Pressure switch

Next is the pressure switch. He is responsible for the water level in the washing machine, depending on the washing program that is running. There are two types of pressure switches: mechanical and electronic. The first can regulate the water only two levels, in some cases one. But the second already works in a wide range, and for each wash, whether cotton, manual or delicate, it collects the exact and necessary amount of water. Here, of course, preference should be given to the electronic pressure switch.

Energy consumption

If the buyer is concerned about the issue of saving electricity, then when buying, he should pay attention to this. As with spinning, energy consumption is divided into classes (A,B,C,D,E,F,G). Class A is low energy consumption, respectively G is the most greedy. The most energy efficient devices are designated A+++, where the electricity consumption is 0.13 kWh.

Engine

Also, do not forget about the engine. There are three motor options that are responsible for rotating the drum: collector, direct drive and asynchronous (or three-phase).

The collector, also known as a brush, is installed in the most economical washers, at the bottom of the drum and is connected to the shaft by a drive belt. Of the shortcomings, it is possible to note only the brushes. During operation, they rub against the collector, thus generating noise. They will also need to be changed over time. Otherwise, this is a reliable and powerful motor that gets the job done.

A direct drive motor is most often found on LG machines. Unlike the first, it is installed directly on the drum itself. There is only one drawback of such an engine, this is its complexity. For its operation, a more expensive and functional board is needed that can correctly control the motor. As a general rule, it fails more often and repair or replacement can be very expensive.

And of course an asynchronous motor is also an inverter. It is similar to the collector, it is also installed below and connected to the belt, but it works much quieter. And all thanks to the absence of brushes. This motor is usually installed in more expensive washing machines.

The best purchase option will be the HAIER HW60-BP12929AS model. The tank of this washing machine is collapsible, the bearing is large, and the average service life of such a machine is 10 years. The inverter motor is quite powerful and at the same time quiet in operation. Energy class A +++, which will allow you to wash regularly, without worrying about paying more for electricity. In addition, the machine is quite compact – 85 x 59 x 37 cm – and during installation it will not take up much space in the bathroom or kitchen.

conclusion

So what should you pay attention to when choosing a washing machine? The design, as mentioned above, is left to the discretion of the consumer. The quality of washing, almost the same for all types of machines. The main thing to pay attention to is the technical part. It is better to choose a washing machine with a collapsible drum and a full-size one. Look at the number of revolutions of rotation, the more the better, the bearing will last longer. The pressure switch that regulates the water must be electronic. And the motor must already be chosen from what is needed. If you’re not worried about noise and need to save money, then a collector’s item. Don’t feel sorry for the money and prefer silence, then asynchronous.
